Happiness tip: Really listen

How many times do we talk to someone without listening, instead only thinking of what we want to say next? Many conversations are a disconnected series of statements as two people try to express themselves without really listening to the other person.

Show your respect and appreciation for others by actively listening to them.

Here are some tips:

  1. Never interrupt.
  2. Focus on the person speaking to you, and show that you are listening by looking into their eyes.
  3. Always make sure your next statement relates to what was said.
Taking these three simple steps will help make people feel appreciated and respected, which are the foundation to a good relationship.
